Our hatchery is designed not only for oyster seed production but also as platform for research, education and knowledge exchange. The faculty has just been completed and is expected to be used for trail seed production in June-July 2022. As expected in a typical hatchery, we have display area on entry to show our overall aim and expected outcomes of this hatchery project. On its left, we have designed an algal culture area to supply adequate food for culture of both larvae and spats in the hatchery room. The Major part of the hatchery is larval culture area, which has its own rec- circulation facility for over 2000 L of seawater and also supporting larval settlement and spat culture facility. Besides, we have significantly larger chemical lab area to study oyster meat quality and food safety parameters.
